Workerly sources and feature scope

Zoho’s setup article specifies Agency, Client or Auto approval at the client level. A changed mode applies only to timesheets created after the change is saved. Submission timing depends on the billing cycle and Timesheet early submission setting: the creation guide describes waiting until the last working day for weekly/monthly jobs, while the submission guide describes an enabled early-submission option. Temp login must be enabled for worker portal/app submission; agents can submit manually without it. Client portal access requires enabling the portal and inviting the contact. Shared shift records there are read-only, and the portal uses the agency organization’s time zone. Check your selected plan, permissions and configuration. This guide does not establish legal compliance or correct pay.

From assignment to an approval decision

  1. Agree the assignment and review owner

Record the client, job, temp worker and period before collecting time. Confirm availability and the agreed work. Name the person who will review records and handle queries. Workerly documents assigning jobs with an option for temps to accept or reject; accepting a temp assignment is a different event from accepting an employment offer.

  2. Record hours against the right job and temp

Keep planned hours separate from recorded work. Zoho’s creation guide associates a timesheet with a job, an assigned temp and a date cycle, using Hours or Start & End log types. Agree how breaks, missed entries and corrections will be checked; keep a record of the reason for a correction in your agency process.

  3. Submit using the chosen approval process

Saving and submitting are separate actions. Choose Agency or Client approval when the process needs human review; Zoho also documents an Auto option at the client level. Check the current mode, billing cycle and early-submission setting before setting a deadline. A pre-filled record does not prove those hours have been worked.

  4. Review the decision before the handoff

For Agency or Client approval, the designated approver can review, accept or reject a submitted timesheet and add remarks. Check the worker, assignment, dates and hours before making the decision. Track rejected records and resolve queries in your agency process. Have the billing or payroll owner confirm the records, period and required fields; an approval decision is not a guarantee of correct billing, pay or legal compliance.

Keep the assignment and decision connected

Use this editorial checklist in your existing process. These are editorial record choices, not a claim that every item is a named Workerly field.

Read submission and decision status separately

Zoho’s creation guide defines these statuses. Interpret them with your selected approval mode; this overview concerns Agency or Client review.

Yet-to-submit

Zoho’s creation guide defines this as a timesheet that the temp has not yet submitted.

Submitted

In the documented human-review workflow, the timesheet has been submitted but not yet approved. Check the selected approval mode.

Approved

The designated approver has approved the timesheet. Keep the decision separate from payment or invoice status.

Rejected

The approver has rejected the timesheet. Resolve the query before using the record in the next process.

Connect the workflow to the right reference

Use the shift-scheduling guide to separate planned and recorded time. The time-to-hire reference explains its own recruitment events and populations; temp assignment or timesheet approval does not automatically reproduce it.

Before choosing a timesheet tool

Does saving a timesheet mean it is approved?

No. Zoho’s creation guide separates saving from submission and lists distinct submission and approval statuses. In Agency or Client approval, the designated approver reviews the submitted record.

Which approval process can I choose?

Zoho’s setup article specifies Agency, Client or Auto approval at the client level. Changes apply only to timesheets created after saving the change. The guide does not assume a mandatory agency-then-client sequence.

Can a temp submit before the billing period ends?

Check the billing cycle and Timesheet early submission setting. The creation guide describes a last-working-day rule for weekly/monthly jobs; the submission guide describes an enabled early-submission option. Treat pre-filled time separately from work actually recorded.

Is this a tested review or a recruitment benchmark?

No. HRRef provides an original workflow checklist and describes documented Workerly functions. Timesheet approval and acceptance of a temp assignment are operational events; they do not automatically produce time-to-hire or offer-acceptance benchmarks. HRRef has not tested the product or measured a performance gain.
